WestJet Launches Nonstop Calgary-Rome Service

Written by pgex7

WestJet on Saturday launched new “peak season” nonstop service between Calgary and Rome, the carrier announced. The route was initially scheduled to launch in May 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. The service will operate in each direction three times weekly using a 320-seat Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The new service “rounds out” the airline’s investments in Alberta’s transatlantic connectivity and provides the city with a 43 percent increase in WestJet service to Europe compared with 2019, according to the carrier. Western Canadians and Northwestern-based Americans can now connect to Rome, Paris, Dublin and both London-Heathrow and Gatwick from Calgary.
