Written by pgex7

Etihad has announced plans to resume flights from its hub in Abu Dhabi to Beijing on June 29.

The carrier says that this will be the first regular direct international passenger flight to recommence for Beijing.

The airline will operate a weekly flight on a B787 Dreamliner. Flight EY888 will depart Abu Dhabi at 1800 on June 29, arriving in Beijing at 0525 the following day.

EY889 will depart Beijing on July 1 at 0210, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 0710.

There are strict protocols in place for this flight, detailed on Etihad’s website. Passengers must be fully vaccinated and test at the C42 lab listed on its website on June 27 between 6pm and 11pm.

Note that passengers will need a booster dose if the second dose of their vaccine was administered more than six months ago. See all the requirements via Etihad’s Covid-19 hub.

Martin Drew, senior vice president Global Sales and Cargo at Etihad Aviation Group, said:

“Etihad Airways is delighted about the resumption of passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Beijing, our second service to resume to China.

“China has always been an important strategic market for Etihad and the resumption of direct flights between the two capital cities will further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the United Arab Emirates.”

The airline’s services from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai resumed in July 2020.
